Christ the KingCristo Rei was inspired by the 'Christ the Redeemer' statue in Brazil and was completed in 1959 by the order of Salazar, the leader of Portugal at the time. It stands at a little over 100 meters tall and offers the best view of the entirety of Lisboa. (There's an elevator up to his feet). When I was walking around on the grounds, a girl walked by me was singing "I always feel like.....somebody's watchin' meeeeee." She was right. He's a little overbearing.
