Home / Joe Wise / Angkor / Banteay Kdei 10
One of my favorite sites in Angkor. The banyan trees growing over the ruins are beyond description. There is truly no substitute for being there. This is also known as 'The Tombraider Ruins' because there's a scene in the 'Tombraider' movie shot here. The scale of these tree roots is hard to grasp which is why I included a rare shot of people in the last pic.

A rare pic with people in it. Again, I included this for scale so that the sheer magnitude of these tree roots can be appreciated. - Banyon Tree

This is actually the other side of the gallery hall from second picture in this album. As you can see the roots are impressive from both sides of this gallery as the roots manage to reach the ground on both sides. The gallery is pobably 10 feet wide. - Banyon Tree

Banyon Tree - Devatas
There are MANY Devatas and Apsaras carved into the walls of Banteay Kdei. - Banyon Tree
I included this shot to help show the scale of the banyan trees at this site. - Naga
Another balustrade with a Naga head at the end of it. - Banyon Tree
