- Flower Growing From Canyon Wall
- Concretion Tube
This was an interesting formation that looked like a concrete sewer pipe, but was, in fact, formed when the mineral laden water formed stone around a tree branch. Then at some point, the tree branch rotted away (and the water ceased to flow here), leaving this tube. This is probably one reason the water was so clean. There was no mud or detritous at the bottom of the creek. It seemed that anything that spent any significant amount of time in the water started getting encased in stone. All of the tree roots, etc. that we saw were encased in stone. So, nothing really hung around in the water long enough to rot before it got encased in stone. - Flying Port-a-Potty
On our last full day, they came in and helicoptered out the porta potties. A tear was shed, but it was a quick funeral, as they were long overdue for removal (they were only there for the memorial day folks).
